- Ernesto Guevara (Gael García Bernal) and Alberto Granado (Rodrigo De la Serna) arriving to Temuco, the scene was filmed in an old steam locomotive house. Two years after that, the locomotive house it was transformed, reconstructed and converted in a Railrod museum named after chilean Nobel Prize of literature Pablo Neruda (who is cited in the film at least two times) who lived in Temuco almost 16 years from his childhood to his twenties. His father was a railroad worker during this period of time. was filmed in Temuco, Chile (by Rodrigo Pastor Pensa)
- Ernesto Guevara (Gael García Bernal) and Alberto Granado (Rodrigo De la Serna) walking with the broken bike outside of "El Diario Austral" (the Austral Newspaper), this scene was filmed outside of an old and former luxury hotel in Temuco in the decade of 1920, called "edificio Marsano" (Marsano Building). The Hotel is one of the few old building in a good state of conservation. The real Newspaper building where Ernesto Guevara was interviewed, is almost completely different since 1952 and now is surrounded by modern buildings and high traffic in the center of the city. was filmed in Temuco, Chile (by Rodrigo Pastor Pensa)
